Akane Hatai, A Cheeky Stare (NATURE WILDERNESS 2025)

This nose-horned chameleon (Calumma nasutum), one of Madagascar’s smallest arboreal chameleons, moved slowly, swaying like the surrounding leaves, his enormous eyes moving independently yet never leaving me. It was a cheeky encounter, and his slow, gentle movements let me get close enough to capture this moment.
