Brody Gamble, At World's End (PLACES WILDERNESS 2025)
Vestrahorn is an imposing and beautiful mountain range situated along the Icelandic coast, and it has been a bucket list location for me to experience for a long while. On this particular morning, I was met with ferocious winds, clouds and snowfall. The black sand beach was covered with ice, and the grasses that formed the dunes were contorted by the fierce winds. I don't think I've ever felt that cold. But once the sun broke through the clouds behind me and illuminated the scene my persistence was rewarded. I literally threw my arms in the air and celebrated the moment before clicking the shutter.
