Lex Rudd, Deer are vigilant at Merrijig (NATURE WILDERNESS 2025)

These Deer were sighted at the end of a day in the Victorian Alps at Mt Buller and Mt Stirling. As we neared our accommodation at Merrijig they appeared at top of a hill. We were travelling in two vehicles about 500m apart so the deer were watching both vehicles. This image was captured with a Nikon Z7ii, a 300mm prime lense in cropped mode (equiv. 450mm) using f5, 1/320sec, ISO 1600 and Exp -0.3 .
