Sheila Peake, Early Morning Sortee (PLACES WILDERNESS 2025)
Namibia, a land of extreme beauty and diverse landscapes. Photographing in this country is a “time stands still” experience. The vastness was over whelming and the colour palette a visual overload. The blues of the sky, the red sand of the Sossusvlei desert and the white dusty Namib Desert all added to the feeling of being such a tiny part of a vast landscape. Trying to portray the scale and colour of this place was difficult. Encountering an early morning balloon tour provided context to the scale and colour of the desert region.
