Lex Rudd, Skippers Canyon (PLACES WILDERNESS 2025)

Skippers Canyon is located near Queenstown (New Zealand). The discovery of gold in the Shotover River in 1860 saw the start of a gold rush. Four thousand miners took part and the Shotover River yielded 10 metric tons of gold. Miners carved out the Skippers Road which sits 80 metres above the river. Skippers Road is unsealed and is only wide enough for one vehicle. Most insurance compaies provide no cover for accidents on this road. My image shows the canyon and the Shotover River. The image was captured with a Nikon Z7_2, a Nikkor 24-200m lenses set on 33mm, f6.3, ISO200 and 1/60 second.
