Murray Parkinson, Taranaki Falls, Tongariro National Park (PLACES WILDERNESS 2025)
The sense of natural wildness is a subjective experience. For me, it is enhanced during what most people call bad weather, which is actually good weather. This portrait of Taranaki Falls was recorded from a small rock platform during a frigid winter rain storm. Keeping the camera lens dry was a major challenge, but worth the effort to capture the sublime beauty of this waterfall.
