Peter Ogden, TURON RIVER (PLACES WILDERNESS 2025)
At almost 117 kilometre in length, the Turon River rises on the western slopes of the Great Dividing Range in the enormous Capertee Valley, and flows west, through Turon National Park. Along its banks many stories can be heard... It was the site of one of Australia's first gold rushes, such as the location of this photograph – Turon Gates. Horse riding, gold panning, canoeing, camping, and fishing are the new tourist rush...but the wild side of the river can still be found.
